1 Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdez – Zagora Desert

Your 2-day Zagora Desert tour from Marrakech begins with an early departure from your hotel or riad. Travel through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m) while enjoying panoramic views of traditional Berber villages and dramatic mountain landscapes.

Your first major stop is the UNESCO World Heritage site Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most famous ksars in Morocco. This historic fortified village has been used as a filming location for many international movies and series including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Explore the kasbah with time for photos and enjoy lunch in the nearby village.

Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa.” Here you will stop to admire the impressive Kasbah Taourirt and optionally visit the famous Atlas Film Studios, where many international productions were filmed.

The journey continues south through the scenic Draa Valley, famous for its thousands of palm trees and ancient kasbahs. Passing through the village of Agdez, you will drive along one of the largest palm groves in Morocco before arriving in Zagora Desert.

Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome mint tea before starting a memorable camel trek into the desert. Ride across the small dunes and palm groves while watching the sunset over the Zagora desert landscape.

Arrive at your traditional Berber desert camp, where you will enjoy dinner under the stars and spend the night in a comfortable nomadic tent.

2 Day 2 : Zagora – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Tizi n’Tichka – Marrakech

Wake up early to witness a peaceful sunrise over the Zagora desert dunes. After enjoying breakfast at the camp, ride camels back to the village where you will have time to freshen up.

Begin the return journey to Marrakech through the beautiful Draa Valley, passing traditional villages and palm groves. Stop in Agdez to visit the historic Kasbah Tamnouggalte, one of the oldest kasbahs in southern Morocco with over 500 years of history.

Continue toward Ouarzazate, where you may visit the famous Atlas Film Studios (optional). Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before crossing the High Atlas Mountains again via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass.

Arrive back in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation. or at the nearest accessible place for the transport form your place.
