Atlantic coast behind, the route winds through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains,
crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, where panoramic views of rugged peaks and valleys
offer plenty of photo opportunities. Midway, stop to admire traditional Berber villages and
kasbahs made from mudbrick, which reflect Morocco’s rich architectural heritage. In the
afternoon, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, an iconic fortified
village known for its history and cinematic fame. Continue the journey to the scenic Dades
Valley, often called the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs,” known for its dramatic red cliffs,
palm groves, and unique desert landscapes. Check into your hotel in Dades Valley and
enjoy dinner while soaking in the views of the valley.
2Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, depart from Dades Valley and drive through the winding roads leading to the
Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon with towering rock walls rising over 300 meters. Take
time to walk along the river, marvel at the dramatic cliffs, and capture breathtaking photos.
After exploring the gorges, continue east toward the Merzouga Desert, crossing desert
landscapes, oases, and small villages along the way. Upon arrival in Merzouga, enjoy a
relaxing afternoon before your camel trek. Ride camels into the golden Erg Chebbi dunes to
watch a mesmerizing desert sunset, then settle into a traditional Berber camp for dinner and
an unforgettable night under the stars.
